Heatons Summer FestivalHeaton Moor Park, Sunday 22 June 2014

Well, I did say we weren’t going very far……just down the road from our regular site in fact!

The local traders association for The Heatons – the 4HTA – have organised this free festival each summer for the past 4 years. This is the 5th anniversary of the ever-popular event, and Heaton Moor Market will be taking part!

Line-up for the day includes live music, old fashioned fair-ground stalls, funfair, sport displays, hot food from local cafes & restaurants, a Heatons Bake-off, community & local business stalls and, this year, Heaton Moor Market all set up in the park (an extra market for the month of June!).

Whatever the weather, it is a fabulous, fun day for all the family and a great way to celebrate The Heatons.

    #HeatonsSummerFestival

Entry to both these events is free, so come along, help support independent, local business and enjoy!

  • Market Day – March

    market march 3

It wasn’t quite the beautiful, dry Spring day that had been forecast, but the March Heaton Moor Market brought the crowds out once again.

We had the pleasure of welcoming a couple of new traders to our market this month – Mafeking Biltong, Salkini’s Homemade Food, Belle Chocolats and Your Pet Palace – great to be able to add more talented producers to our market.

    Mafeking Biltong

    Salkini's Homemade Food

    Belle Chocolats

We missed a couple of our traders who were away this weekend, but looking forward to having them back with us next month.

Lots of market-goers took the opportunity to enjoy the hot food available at the market this month – Hot Roast Rolls and Roast Lamb Wraps were being cooked on the rotisserie by Kro, while  Jerk Chicken, Sausages & Burgers were on the bbq from Back’s Deli.

We very much hoped you enjoyed the market and hope to see you back next month – let us know what you think of the market and if there is anything we can improve on!

Many thanks, Heaton Moor Market 🙂

  • Next Market – Sunday 02 March 2014

The weeks are passing quickly already and it is nearly time for the March Heaton Moor Market.  That also means that we should be getting closer to better weather and lighter days, and hopefully an end to these awful winds that have caused so much destruction to local areas, and so much disruption to local markets!

March sees a fully booked market with plenty of locally produced, fresh food; crafts and gifts – don’t forget, it’s Mother’s Day at the end of March, so use this opportunity to buy something handmade & unique.

Hot food will be available again, which we hope you will enjoy while you spend time at the market, or pop in to one of the local cafes or restaurants and make the most of #HeatonsSunday.

  • New # needed!!

As I am sat at my desk starring at the pile of flyers that need to be altered to show the new day (1st Sunday of each month) and time (11:00 – 15:00) of our monthly market, I realise that we can no longer be #MarketSaturday !

A new # is needed, yet #MarketSunday is already widely in use by other markets.

So, I set it to you, lovely market-goers, followers and supporters – I need some ideas for a new # to reflect our new monthly positioning and set-up………..

  • Market returns Sunday 02 February 2014

A very happy 2014 to you all and looking forward to a busy & bustling market year to come!

Heaton Moor Market returns in it’s new monthly slot on Sunday 02 February 2014, 11:00 – 15:00.

This year, not only will we be in our usual location on the car park of The Kushoom Koly, but we will also have stalls set up along Shaw Road itself.  As such, no vehicles will be permitted along Shaw Road, from Heaton Moor Rd to Derby Range, during the market operating times.  This will allow easier browsing & shopping space for customers to enjoy.

As well as all our regular, much loved traders – selling everything from Farm-made cheeses, hand made pies, cheesecakes and chilli sauces; to hand made skin care, painted plant pots and jewellery – we will be welcoming some lovely new traders who are very much looking forward to bringing their locally made products to The Heatons.

We do still have some space for a few more traders who can offer products not already available – if you have your own gazebo and all necessary insurance etc, please contact us at: hello@hmoormarket.co.uk

We look forward to our first Sunday market of 2014 on 02 February (weather dependent)

    See you then!

  • Change To Sunday Market for 2014

As of 2014, Heaton Moor Market will be changing days.  The market will no longer be on a Saturday, but will instead be held on the 1st Sunday of each month from February.  New time will be 11:00 – 15:00.

The change is due to the market being permitted to close the top of Shaw Road, from Heaton Moor Road to Derby Range, to allow for greater space and more stalls to be set up on the road.

All-in-all this means a bigger and better market for all – greater number & variety of stalls, more opportunity for independent, small businesses to sell & promote themselves to the local community, hot food offer from local Shaw Road businesses, and maybe even a touch of entertainment!

We very much hope that everyone will enjoy the changes to the market and that it can become even more of a monthly event in The Heatons.

If you would like more information, or are a business interested in a stall at the market, please contact us at: hello@hmoormarket.co.uk
