Xmas Festival 2013 Leaflet.inddIt is that time of year again………as the nights draw in, the weather turns colder & bleaker, there is a light on the horizon…… Christmas in The Heatons!

As many of you will now, the November Heaton Moor Market was the last regular monthly market of 2013 – for the remainder of this year, Heaton Moor Market joins in the festive fun and becomes part of #HeatonXmas

You will find all our stalls, with all our regular traders, bringing you the change to stock up on fresh, locally produced food for Christmas, and to buy those unique, handmade gifts.

First event is Friday 29 November on Shaw Road, Heaton Moor. The Market will be set up and trading from 4pm and we will have santa busy in his grotto and all set for visits!  Hot food will be on offer from local Heaton Moor restaurants, and there will be local bands and school choirs to get everyone in Christmas-mode!

On Saturday 30 November, St Thomas’s Church in Heaton Chapel has a Christmas “sing-along” with a visit from santa and The Rotary Ukelele band. There will also be some craft & gift stalls in the church for a spot of festive shopping at the same time.

Saturday 07 December sees Heaton Moor Market at The Moor Top – all our stalls will be set up on the car park, next to the Co-op, ready to go from 11am. Santa will be back in his grotto, and there will be the much-enjoyed treasure hunt around the local shops.

Saturday 14 December sees the last event in Heaton Mersey – on the car park of The Frog & Railway. Activities will revolve around the car park & St John’s Church, with a local school choir competition, carol singing and stalls for that last-minute Xmas shopping!

Hope to see lots of you at these Christmas events and remember – help support local business & community by making this a Shop Local Xmas!

How lucky we are to have such a wonderful selection of locally produced food, gifts & crafts at our Monthly Market and to hear the response of market goers who enjoy our little market and all there is to buy.

I am continually amazed by the quality & variety of products traders offer each month, and the passion & dedication that they have for their work.

I love being able to bring these wonderful traders to Heaton Moor and for the local community (and beyond) to be able to enjoy the day and the products on offer.

  • #MarketSaturday

poster jpeg for marketThe first Saturday of the month sure does come around quick, and once again, #MarketSaturday is nearly upon us.

August is a funny month – the inevitable Holiday season means many of our regular stallholders are away, as are many customers, and usually means a quieter market.  Nonetheless, our market soldiers on……

Fortunately, we have been able to book in some new traders who will be offering exciting products for those of you enjoying the continued good weather and holidaying in The Heatons (will feel like you’re at a market on the streets of Paris!).

So, here’s who’s new for the August Market:

Plus, many of your market favourites will still be with us on Saturday…..

Pop along, bring a sun hat and a brollie just to cover all options, and be ready to stock up on wonderful local produce………see you there xx

  • NEW – Specialist Markets

    Ale & Food logo

Heaton Moor Producers Market has been so well supported over the past few years and has become an event that is much looked forward to each month, by customers and traders alike.

As a result of this, we have been looking at ways in which the market can grow further, but without losing any of it’s appeal or the community feel that it has developed.

The answer – regular specialist markets.  After much debate & consideration, we have decided to hold additional “festival” markets that would focus on certain products sold by our traders at the monthly market and incorporate some street food & entertainment into this.

The first is to be an Ale & Food market this coming October- we are looking for local breweries to come along and promote their real ales to the Heatons and sell bottled beer for customers to enjoy at home. We are also looking for local producers to accompany this with items such as pies, tarts, scotch eggs etc

Other specialist markets in the planning include a coffee & chocolate market (March); a flower & garden market (July/August); and maybe even a market especially for bakers – cakes, biscuits, bread………

Look out for updates on these specialist events and for news on local restaurants/delis who will be taking part via Twitter and Facebook.

  • What’s On This #MarketSaturday

And, it promises to be a busy & bustling day, with glorious July weather from the look of things (hope I haven’t jinxed that now!!).
