  • Market Day : Sunday Nov 1st

As the days grow shorter, it’s time to hunker down, nip out for some treats, presents and essentials and return to the warm and dry! We will be there on Sunday 10.30 – 2.30pm with said presents, treats & essentials and I very much suspect we shall all be sporting our thermals and woolly hats!

As you all know, we are in Tier 3 and covid numbers are rising. Markets are still fighting the good fight & we will be continuing to use our 1 way system, asking you all to wear masks (even though we are outside), to make liberal use of the hand sanitisers & to keep your distance. Everyone has been exemplary in their cautiousness, I just ask that you keep your eye on keeping your distance from each other. If you are queuing for a stall, please do not block the pathway, queue against the stall in a line so that others can pass safely or go straight past and do another flypast on a 2nd trip round to place your order.

A 1000 thanks from all of us at the market, the traders are constantly telling me how safe they feel here and how compliant and understanding all their customers are – you can feel suitably smug:)

Here’s hoping for a lovely autumnal day on Sunday, written in hope more than conviction – I am literally watching the rain stream down my windows as I type…

  • Next Market Day – Sunday October 4th: 10.30 – 2.30pm

It is true, by next weekend we are into October!

A new month, a new lockdown….. We are definitely happening but to keep us all safe, we need to work together. (That sounds like a horribly familiar phrase, I must chat about it with my grouse shoot chums)

If you have been before you know that we try to limit numbers, you may have to queue to get in, you need to hand sanitise on entry and are invited to make liberal use of hand sanitiser on the stalls throughout the market. We ask you to think about wearing a mask if possible, but are very aware this is your choice at an outside event. Please pay by card where possible, but the traders will still accept cash. Please don’t come if you have any covid symptoms or are awaiting results. I have been delighted to see how everyone navigates around queues, if you are in a queue, either make sure you are not causing a hold up or carry on and return to the stall later.

Thankyou – you really have been fantastic.

The market has grown! We are extending down Shaw rd! All your favourites are still here, plus new traders who have been wanting to join us for ages and there just hasn’t been the room!
