May sees something new for Heaton Moor Market – we are holding an additional market, not at our usual Shaw Road site, but in Stockport Old Town.
We are proud to have been asked to be part of the Love You Local Market event taking place on Saturday 17 May – Heaton Moor Market will be setting up along Great Underbank, with many of your favourite stalls from the regular monthly market.
If you’ve already run out of produce bought at the May market, or have some gift-items in mind that you’ve had your eye on, come down to Stockport and enjoy this event – full details below:
There’s a Bank Holiday Weekend coming up, it’s Heaton Moor Market on the Sunday – and, it’s The Heatons Beer Festival all weekend (Fri-Mon) organised by Kro (Scout Hut, St Paul’s Road).

The weeks are passing quickly already and it is nearly time for the March Heaton Moor Market. That also means that we should be getting closer to better weather and lighter days, and hopefully an end to these awful winds that have caused so much destruction to local areas, and so much disruption to local markets!
March sees a fully booked market with plenty of locally produced, fresh food; crafts and gifts – don’t forget, it’s Mother’s Day at the end of March, so use this opportunity to buy something handmade & unique.
Hot food will be available again, which we hope you will enjoy while you spend time at the market, or pop in to one of the local cafes or restaurants and make the most of #HeatonsSunday.

A very happy 2014 to you all and looking forward to a busy & bustling market year to come!
Heaton Moor Market returns in it’s new monthly slot on Sunday 02 February 2014, 11:00 – 15:00.
This year, not only will we be in our usual location on the car park of The Kushoom Koly, but we will also have stalls set up along Shaw Road itself. As such, no vehicles will be permitted along Shaw Road, from Heaton Moor Rd to Derby Range, during the market operating times. This will allow easier browsing & shopping space for customers to enjoy.
As well as all our regular, much loved traders – selling everything from Farm-made cheeses, hand made pies, cheesecakes and chilli sauces; to hand made skin care, painted plant pots and jewellery – we will be welcoming some lovely new traders who are very much looking forward to bringing their locally made products to The Heatons.
We do still have some space for a few more traders who can offer products not already available – if you have your own gazebo and all necessary insurance etc, please contact us at: hello@hmoormarket.co.uk
We look forward to our first Sunday market of 2014 on 02 February (weather dependent)
Complimenting our wide selection of locally produced food each month are our very talented Crafters, Makers & Growers – the market is the perfect place to find unique & imaginative creations for your home, or to buy as gifts – you will find the following stalls at the market each month:
Karla brightens the market with her beautiful hand-painted plant pots (available in a range of sizes), wood carvings and Organically grown herb, vegetable and strawberry plants (according to the season). Karla is always happy yo talk to customers about their gardens and give tips & advice to help your gardens grow! Plant pots are available to order.

Natural, Hand Made Skin Care is brought is brought to you by Olive & Rose – these products have won many fans at the market, who come back each month to stock up. The products are beautifully packaged and make wonderful gifts, as well as a lovely treat for yourself! Ask Eleanor to recommend products for your needs and have a try (and smell) of these wonderful products.
Another stall that adds a splash of colour to our market, and which makes such beautiful and imaginative items – Ebb and Flow always have that special something that makes a perfect gift for a child. Jeri is part of the creative force behind Ebb & Flow and is incredibly talented with a needle and thread!
Based in Didsbury, Clare has imaginatively decorated mugs & coasters for areas of Manchester & Cheshire, as well as for occasions. I look forward to seeing the new designs each month and, if you can’t wait for the market, Clare’s mugs can be bought at several shops in and around Manchester & Cheshire.
Heatons-based, The Handmade Home, have created the most wonderful smelling candles, home fragrances and Beauty Products, all handmade from natural ingredients. This is another perfect stall for gifts, or to treat yourself – Victoria puts together beautiful gift sets for that something extra special!

Now, it’s not just yourself, your garden and home that you can buy for at the market, even dogs are provided for with Charlie & Derek’s Dog Treats! Handmade, healthy dog treats are loving made and presented by Ros in her Cheshire Home and brought to you at the market each month. Can also be bought on-line.
For those who have yet to attend one of our monthly markets, or for those that have not had chance to pop over for a while, I thought I would give you an idea of the range & quality of products that are available at Heaton Moor Producers Market each month….
Paul had been a loyal stall holder at our market for the past 2 years. He travels from Halifax to bring his ever expanding range of freshly baked bread to our market each month. Paul makes & bakes all the bread himself (as well as having made his own brick oven!) and by the time he reaches our market around 9am, Paul is ready for his lunch as he has been up & baking bread since the early hours of the morning!
What is great about the market is that it is an opportunity to buy fresh food, but also try something completely new. Mininki’s offers all of this with their freshly made Pestos (basil, coriander or sun-dried tomato), Savoury gloops (sweet chilli 0r balsamic vinegar & onion), Turkish Bread & Crostini, and Dukkahs (Egyptian nut dip!). Tracey (originally from New Zealand) also makes the most wonderful zesty shortbread!
We were very fortunate to be contacted by a local sausage maker who has now been part of our market for the past 2 years and is always a popular stall (as are their samples!). Ray makes all the sausages, burgers & meatballs, with different varieties available each month, including Pork or Cumberland Sausages, Venison burgers and Spicy Mutton Meatballs.
When All About Pies first came to our market in early 2012, Caroline tells me they quickly sold out of pies. Caroline has told me that, each month, they bring more due to demand, yet they still have none left at the end of the day! And it’s no wonder with the variety of beautifully handmade pies that they offer – new varieties are often added each month, such as Wild Mountain Goat!
We couldn’t have a market without a Chutney stall, and FatJax fits in perfectly with our market. Paul is another stallholder that travels a bit further than some to be at our market each month – he is based in Preston, but we are very grateful that he is a part of our market and makes such wonderful chutneys & relishes as English Orchard Chutney, Mediterranean Relish, Sweet Red Onion & Chili Relish and the popular Bengali Pineapple Chutney (even has it’s own separate Twitter account!).
