Gosh, that’s a photo from a while ago! A lovely resident from one of the flats on Shaw Road took this and sent it to us. The beloved Kush was still open then and I think (peering myopically) that it was the Kro on the corner. Things change, but Shaw Road somehow always remains the same😊

@Root2Ginger will be with us, offering a warming fiery ginger kick, serve warm for max autumnal feelings.

NEW FACES
Talking of warming the cockles of our autumnal hearts, we are delighted to welcome @spitfireheritagegin
Artisan distillers, no less! Award winning even😊 The gin is a 1930’s retro gin filled with aromatic botanicals and the vodka is no wallflower, it is distilled up to 3 times and is described as ‘silky smooth’ vodka. I think I need to try some….
There is a whole backstory to these products, the distillers are part of the Spitfire Heritage Trust and the whole ethos of the company stems from the iconic plane itself www.spitfireheritagedistillers.com – an interesting read

GOOD NEIGHBOURS
A plug for the lovely @artclubuk Not only are they a lovely neighbourhood café, they also do a range of Art classes – available to all, young and old.
But they also hire out their space and yours truly went to a party there to celebrate two friends birthdays. It was fabulous, the space is warm and inviting, the staff couldn’t be nicer, food was served downstairs, there is room for a dance.
Plus, the market was very well represented😊. DJ Dan delivered some great music and looking around, I think I saw everyone dancing at least once, so he obviously puts a lot of thought into his sets. Simon from @cheshirebakehouse did the catering and he had a challenge – vegetarian and gluten free. It was excellent and his lemon cheesecakes occupy a permanent space in my memories.
10/10 would recommend
