The hour has changed, blossom is bursting and you can buy daffodils for £1 from the supermarket, it must be spring!

To celebrate we will probably be still dressed in our winter coats but perhaps with one less layer on…

Here is the list of all the traders coming in all our glory, a few come from far afield, but the vast majority are very local. feel free to ask them, they are a greagrious bunch:)

Sicilian Bites – freshly filled, handmade cannoli or have you tried Love Lamingtons – an Australian favourite given a UK twist. If you love classic home baking, you need to check out Marmalady – a stall full of home bakes, home made preserves & hand crocheted blankets. For chocolate lovers, you have choices! The Brownie Owl is here, hand made rich, delectable brownies or handmade chocolates from our resident chocolatier R & M Fine Chocolates (the passionfruit milk chocolate is divine…) Need a dessert for Sunday Lunch, try Jo’s Sticky Toffee Pudding a market staple and hugely popular or peruse Rosia Bakery – a full range of hand made cakes, cookies and traybakes. Whilst choosing what to take home, enjoy a hand made ice cream or crepe from Exclusive Scoops.

Sunday Lunch planning?

For a joint or hand made, locally provenanced sausages chat to our market butchers, Ray at Haycroft Meadow or Hilary at Webbs Beef. Africa Al offer handmade sauces for all your choices and Greek Oil Direct for that rub of olive oil on your gorgeous steak…teamed with Elliot Eastwick’s World Famous Hot Sauce, which needs no introducion from me! Or how about freshly made pizzas to hurry home with, warm and satisfying – Crescent Catering or freshly made, hand filled ravioli to take home Nonna Teresa and it’s difficult to walk past Artisam home of arancini and truffle chips.

Looking for a bite to eat rather than full roast dinner? We have choices:) Hand raised hotwater pastry pies from All About Pies or pakoras from Adil at Alam’s, olives as a side Green Farm Olives. Wide choice of truckle cheeses from Cheese is Grate and deli range from Deli On The Go. Deli On The Go is were you can source your local honey from Fozz-Bees. Cheshire Bakehouse warm or cold savoury pastries with a new twist, scotch eggs from The Staffordshire Scotch Egg Co who are conveniently sited right next to FatJax so that you can team them up with your favourite chutney. Have you ever tried an onion bahji, hand made that morning? Try Nina’s bhaji’s at The Spice Yard.

I always feel every market should have a bread stall and a plant stall – we filled the brief! Artisane Breads and pastries and Par Gardens to fulfil all your horticultural dreams.

No meal is complete without drinks, we have Moorhen Gin, Heatons produced gin and Vino Buono for Italian wine and know how. Bring a bottle to be filled, eco – friendly and cheaper. Artisan coffee beans and ground beans available from B’Spoke Coffee, you may recognise Nick from his coffee shop / hut by the station and teas from Tiger Tea. And while you are choosing we have fresh, barista coffee to drink now from Extreme Coffee, just how you like it.

ARTS & CRAFTS

Self care should come higher than most of us make it. Have a chat wih Rebecca at Roots Vegan Skincare, she makes all her own products and is highly qualified and later get your feet up whilst enjoying a candle from Scents & Solace or the fragrance from a spritz c/o The White Bunny.

We have many, many talented artisans around the Heatons. Audrinka Art and Kate O’Brien Art both very different visual artists, buy on the day or place a commission. Kitsch Republic create quirky cushions, coasters & lampshades. Chiselled Features by Paul can make you a bespoke house number plaque or set of granite coasters. Kellegher Pottery and Kala Walsh Ceramics, Kellegher Pottery for bowls and jugs, Kala for fine, creative ornamental designs.

Jewellery comes recycled and re-imagined with Vintage Love by Trine and hand created from Beautifully Boho plus tying yourself in the most beautiful, colourful knots with Red Spotty Dog.

Children are looked after – The Crochet Boutique sell amazing high quality crocheted toys, Born to be Wild Child t-shirts and giant wall murals, Yanthia Mcr does beautiful face painting and can turn her hand to balloon modelling and temporary tattoos. This month we welcome back Recut, furniture design made from recycled wood, pieces available to be bought on the day and commissions taken.
